Red Line Equestrian is built around a horsemanship education and development program that prioritizes understanding the horse first, with riding as one component of a broader skill set. Our focus is on developing confident, capable horsemen and horsewomen through structured instruction, progressive education, and consistent, correct fundamentals.

Across all programs—boarding, instruction, leasing, and development—our system is designed to create a clear pathway from first introduction through independent riding, leasing, and horse ownership.

Program Entry & Structure

All riders enter Red Line Equestrian through a structured onboarding process to ensure safety, consistency, and proper placement within the program.

Entry Pathways

  • Beginner Horsemanship Program (new riders)
  • Introduction to Red Line Equestrian (experienced riders new to the program)
  • Direct placement (qualified riders approved by management)

These entry points ensure every rider begins with a shared understanding of horsemanship expectations, barn structure, and safety standards.

Instruction Structure

We offer both private and group instruction, with progression based on skill, confidence, and consistency.

  • Private instruction is the foundation of all development and required for all new participants
  • Riders transition into small group instruction as skills develop
  • Group placement is based on skill compatibility to ensure safety and effective learning
  • Independent practice opportunities as skills develop

Instruction is always individualized, with progression based on readiness rather than timeline.

Beginner Horsemanship Program

For riders with little to no experience, we offer a structured Beginner Horsemanship Program designed to establish a safe and confident foundation before entering ongoing instruction.

This is a 4-week foundational commitment focused on essential horsemanship, horse safety, and basic riding principles.

Focus areas include:

  • Horse safety and awareness
  • Basic handling and ground manners
  • Mounting, dismounting, and rider position basics
  • Walk-only control and balance development
  • Introduction to communication with the horse
  • Foundational horsemanship on the ground and in the saddle

Completion of this program is required prior to entering regular instruction. Completion does not guarantee immediate placement into lessons, as availability is subject to scheduling and waitlist status.

We do not offer traditional barn tours for beginners. This program serves as the introduction to Red Line Equestrian.

Introduction to Red Line Equestrian (Experienced Riders)

Experienced riders new to the program may enroll in our Introduction to Red Line Equestrian session.

This is a two-hour orientation-based program covering:

  • Facility overview and barn structure
  • Program expectations and horsemanship standards
  • Safety procedures and barn policies overview
  • Introduction to horses and instruction system

Completion is required prior to entering regular instruction for experienced riders new to the program.

This does not apply to haul-in lesson clients.

Horsemanship Development Pathway

Once enrolled, riders progress through structured horsemanship levels focused on skill, understanding, and independence.

Each level develops:

  • Correct and balanced riding position
  • Clear communication with the horse
  • Groundwork and handling skills
  • Equine behavior and biomechanics understanding
  • Horse care and daily responsibility
  • Safe independent riding ability
  • Progression toward leasing and ownership readiness

Horsemanship remains the foundation of all development.

Advanced Development Pathways

As riders progress, they may be invited into advanced programs designed to support increased independence and long-term goals.

Lease Program

Lease opportunities are available for qualified riders and include partial and full lease options. Leasing provides increased consistency, responsibility, and riding time while continuing structured instruction.

See more information here.

Show Development Program

The Show Development Program is for committed riders pursuing competitive goals in English or Western disciplines.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of two structured lessons per week
  • At least one independent practice ride per week

Practice rides reinforce lesson concepts, build independence, and strengthen long-term skill retention.

See more information here.

Lesson Horses

Lesson horses are available for riders without their own horse or those working toward leasing or ownership. Horses are selected for experience, temperament, and suitability for teaching correct fundamentals.

Availability is limited.

Haul-In Instruction

Haul-in riders are welcome by appointment.

  • Must be scheduled in advance
  • Current vaccinations may be required
  • Arena use is coordinated with barn scheduling
